Nicola Mar is an author, artist, and poet who believes in empowering others through her uplifting prose, short poems, and artwork. She is the author of five books, including two novels and three poetry collections. Her paintings often depict animals, florals, and the natural world.

 Growing up on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, Nicola started writing at age seven. At 18, she moved to the U.S. to continue her education, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in anthropology and a specialty in creative writing. 

 In 2014, Nicola published her first novel, A Red Tale, which was inspired by her childhood growing up on St. Maarten. In 2015, her second book, Santa;, was released, with a portion of the proceeds going to charities that help teenagers who struggle with depression, mental illness, and suicide.

Nicola published her third poetry collection, Roses by Moonlight, in the spring of 2018.

In 2022, she starting working on a collection of art.

Nicola currently resides in downtown New York City with her family.
